* I shampoo my hair at least once a week because I use a lot of products.
Baking Soda & Water - I mix the two up to form a liquid and then pour it all over my hair and rub it into the scalp with my fingertips. I then rinse with cold water to remove all of the mixture.
Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture - I use this organic shampoo once a week. I also use it as a combination with a baking soda/water paste I apply to my scalp to remove product buildup. I let the paste sit for 10-15 minutes and then slightly wet the hair and apply enough shampoo to cover my entire head. I focus on the scalp and roots because I always have a thick layer of buildup.
* I co-wash my hair every other day.
Aussie Moist - this conditioner works the best with my curls and greatly defines them if I let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
Suave Naturals - light conditioner that really softens my hair
Tresemme Naturals - also makes my hair very soft
*I deep condition my hair once a week for 45 mins to 2 hours.
Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner - I used this deep conditioner for a while when I first went completely natural. I will use it every now and then. But it makes my hair feel really soft and defines my curls.
Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque - this DC is the current one I have been using. This treatment really moisturizes and softens my curls….plus it defines them. Great product at a great price.
Avocado/Coconut Milk Mixture - I use this mixture as a deep conditioner when I have the time to mix it and let it sit for 1 or 2 hours. This mixture REALLY softens my curls. It feels like heaven on my hair. Plus my curls tend to pop after applying this.
*I moisturize my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY…whether with just water or the products listed below.
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie - I use this EVERYDAY…well almost. I use it for my wash n go’s and my blowouts. It’s my favorite moisturizer because it defines my curls enough…but not to the point where my hair is weighed down. The smell is great and it keeps my hair from feeling dry.
Curls Curl Creme Brule - I use this when I feel my hair is becoming to used to the Curl Enhancing Smoothie. This product makes my hair smell like sugar cookies =) but it also defines these out of control curls of mine. In my opinion, the definition this product has to offer falls a little short of what my Curl Enhancing Smoothie can do. But it’s a great product nonetheless.
*I use a gel every now and then. Mainly when I have the time to detangle my hair and apply it.
Olive Oil Eco Styler - I could be a hair model after using this gel. Definitely offers the BEST definition my curls have yet to see…but that’s not surprising because it is a GEL. The olive oil softens the hair and unlike other gels this one does not make the hair crunchy or flaky. That is also due to the fact that it is alcohol free. The only negative thing I can say about this gel is is takes FOREVER to air dry. I’m talking at least a whole day. But it’s worth it…
EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) - I seal my ends with this oil almost every day after moisturizing.
EVCO (Extra Virgin Coconut Oil) -I use this oil to seal my ends when I am NOT using any other cococut containing products. I don’t use it often because my Curl Enhancing Smoothie moisturizer already has coconut oil. The last thing I need is another protein overdose…
